In many vacation destinations across northern Michigan, stay-and-play golf packages are a major pull for visitors seeking all-inclusive weekend experiences on and off the green. In the heart of Michigan’s Cherry Capital, the Comfort Inn Traverse City is a unique center for custom golf packages for any group. The comprehensive package design services offered by Deb Kresnak, director of sales at Summerside Properties LLC and Comfort Inn Traverse City, enable golfers to focus on their visit while the custom package team makes arrangements, versus golfers having to contact multiple parties to make any changes.

“This makes it really easy as far as packaging for golf. Another thing is I’m the only person in Traverse City who does that for individual golf groups. I’ll do packages for two or 72 [individuals]; it doesn’t matter. As long as you’re sleeping here, I will do all that for you,” Kresnak explained.

Kresnak’s services have resulted in many return golfers to the area and Comfort Inn, as well as the other two Choice Hotels for which Kresnak directs sales. She can tailor particular golf packages for varying budgets, availability, number of people, and even style of golf course; and since the Comfort Inn resides separate from any golf course—as opposed to resorts with their own—Kresnak is able to offer a more unbiased breadth of course options to golfers in their stay-and-play package.

As for the Comfort Inn Traverse City hotel itself, its central location on Munson Avenue, a major roadway through Traverse City and downtown, offers easy connection between the hotel and downtown amenities.

“It’s great because there are two ways in or out of the hotel. You’re either coming out on 8th Street or on Munson Avenue. We also offer shuttle service for once people play golf, but then want to go downtown and get dinner; they can schedule shuttle service,” Kresnak said.

Paired with a pet-friendly atmosphere, exercise room and hot tub for unwinding, the hotel offers the comforts for a weekend away in one of Michigan’s most golf-friendly and beautiful areas.
