Within an approximately 45-minute drive in the Gaylord, Michigan area, the Gaylord Golf Mecca totals 17 golf courses, making it the perfect destination for a golf getaway this season. People looking to experience Gaylord and a few of its local courses can consider the 2022 Tour Golf Package, which cuts costs and makes booking easy by bundling multiple courses and a two-night stay into one inclusive fee.
A partnership among Black Lake Golf Club, Gaylord Golf Club, and Michaywé Pines Golf Course, the Tour Package includes play for an 18-hole round with use of a cart at all three clubs, as well as one nine-hole walking round on the Little Course at Black Lake. Two nights of lodging in a standard room at the UAW Black Lake Conference Center are also provided to guests golfing with this stay-and-play package.
“We are kind of unique up here; it is like a full resort, but also like a college campus with a full gym, and we just sit on the shores of Black Lake. We’ve got a lot of recreational opportunities here besides just golf,” said Nick Aune, general manager of Black Lake Conference Center and Black Lake Golf Club.
The price of the tour package runs at about $234 per person on the weekends during the peak summer months, but fluctuates during the weekdays and shoulder seasons, possibly allowing the golfers looking to book during those times an even greater deal. “It is just a great value, and we’ve had a great relationship with Michaywé Pines and Gaylord Golf Club, as well as the whole entire golf mecca,” Aune said.
The Gaylord Golf Mecca is a division of the Gaylord Area Convention & Tourism Bureau and includes courses such as: Black Lake Golf Club in Onaway, Garland Lodge & Golf Resort in Lewiston, Gaylord Golf Club in Gaylord, Indian River Golf Club in Indian River, Lakes of the North Golf Course in Mancelona, Michaywé Pines in Gaylord, Otsego Resort in Gaylord, The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort in Gaylord, and Treetops Resort in Gaylord.
