Celebrating Bucks Run

Bucks Run Golf Club in Mount Pleasant, Michigan was built on the site of an old gravel mining operation that had sat vacant for the majority of the 1990s. As of July 1st, 2020, the premier golf course is celebrating its 20th anniversary milestone with a slew of specials for visiting golfers, from golf rate and steak dinner specials to raffles benefitting winners for the rest of the 2020 golf season. Visitors can partake in these specials from July 1st through July 5th of this summer.

“This marks an incredibly exciting time for Bucks Run, as we look back at our many successes and great memories over the past 20 years. Our first golfers hit the links on July 1, 2000, and it has been a privilege to serve the same faces—plus many new ones—ever since that opening day,” stated Jeff Sweet, vice president of Bucks Run Golf Club and an original member of the course leadership team, in a press release.

Throughout its 20-year tenure, the Jerry Matthews-designed course has received many awards, and it is well known for its 18 memorable holes. The personality of the landscape is composed of wooded thickets, natural wetlands, and picturesque rivers and lakes. The facilities also include an 18,000-square-foot golf club featuring a large banquet facility, award-winning golf shop, and the Quarry Hill Restaurant.

During the Bucks Run anniversary festivities, each part of the course is getting involved. The Quarry Hill Restaurant is offering dinner specials like Steak Diane, a pan-seared strip loin featuring morel cognac mushroom sauce and a medley of side offerings, for $21. A special drink offering is the McCarthy Manhattan, a special blend of whiskey, cherry juice, and sweet vermouth served on the rocks. A special course offer includes $20 off 18 holes with a cart until 3:00 p.m. ET.

Hole 9 Construction

Bucks Run will also be holding a special raffle during the celebration that yields similar offerings. By simply playing the course, golfers will be entered into the raffle with the chance to win a package that includes $20 off an 18-hole round for up to four people, once a month, for the remainder of the 2020 season. Other raffle package prizes include one free lesson from General Manager and PGA Professional Jon Conklin, and one free nine-hole and dining package to use any time during the 2020 season.

Tee times are required for all golfers planning to play during the anniversary event.
