This golf season, Bucks Run Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, welcomes players to join in on the fun—playing a round on the 18-hole Jerry Matthews-designed course, competing in various golf events held at the club, and getting fit for Parsons Xtreme Golf LLC, or PXG, products.
Bucks Run offers Mid-Michigan Play & Stay Golf Packages, ensuring that golfers hoping to play in Central Michigan can book an overnight trip that includes as many rounds at Bucks Run—and other area golf courses—as they’d like. The golf club has partnerships with seven local lodging facilities for guests to choose from when booking an overnight package deal, and ten golf courses in Mid-Michigan, allowing golfers to choose what type of courses they want to play during their vacation.
“Our packages are 100 percent customizable, so we basically price out every hotel option, which includes all the golf fees and the hotel fees in one price. [It is] simple and easy to read for the customer, and then they can decide for themselves which hotel best suits their needs, and we can modify [the package]—if they want to do all the rounds at Bucks Run or play The Emerald coming into town and play PohlCat before they leave, then play our course, they can. We can do a lot of different variations with those courses and hotels that we work with,” said Emily Rohdy, PGA, head professional at Bucks Run Golf Club.
“The package business so far this year has really been taking off. We are trending to be way past last year as far as total play-and-stay packages booked. I believe last year we were just under 190 total packages booked for the year, and we are trending to hopefully go beyond 200 packages booked,” Rohdy added.
Golfers can also follow Bucks Run’s social media and check their event calendar on the Bucks Run website to keep up to date on all the goings-on at the club. For instance, for the first time this year, Bucks Run is now a PXG Fitting Hub, offering gear from the Arizona-based brand with numerous global patents and a full line-up of right- and left-handed custom golf clubs. Bucks Run plans to host a few fitting days this year with PXG, so golfers can find the gear that is right for them.
On a few Friday evenings throughout the summer, Bucks Run will also be hosting Couples’ Night Scramble events, offering a great date night idea for couples to bond over golfing together. For $90 a pair, couples will receive two nine-hole rounds of golf, competing to win special prizes at the scramble, and afterward, use the provided $40 dinner voucher to relax with a meal at The Quarry Grill Restaurant at Bucks Run. Upcoming dates for the Couples’ Night Scramble include July 1, July 22, and August 19, 2022.
A few tasting events are also scheduled on Bucks Run’s calendar for the coming months, such as Tees, Tequila, & Tacos on July 28, 2022; Brews on the Greens on September 1, 2022; and to kick-off the month of Halloween, “Boos” on the Putting Green on October 7, 2022.
