Dunmaglas Golf Course in Charlevoix, Michigan, which is a gem of sweeping greens in a rustic setting among the trees in one of northern Michigan’s most popular tourist areas, has been a must-play stop for golfers for several years.
Now, golfers can stay and play with the addition of The Cottages at Dunmaglas; and the course’s new pavilion has also opened up new opportunities for events, such as weddings.
“That’s our news,” said Mike Pung, owner of Dunmaglas Golf Course. “We’ve never had the stay-and-play before, but we have it now and they are beautiful condo style cottages; all right along the 18th hole. The couples getting married here can walk right over to the pavilion. It’s all very convenient and a beautiful setting.”
The Cottages at Dunmaglas—eight spacious condominiums tucked between the clubhouse and rolling terrain of the 18th hole—feature three rooms, two of which are complete with full baths separated by a full kitchen, living room, and third full bath and laundry. The Cottages also have separate front entrances for each room, offering an extra layer of accessibility and privacy.
To make a reservation contact Dunmaglas at (231)547-GOLF or email info@dunmaglas.com. The summer rates feature a three-room, two-bedroom condominium at $395 per night plus tax, based on accommodating up to six adults; while a single unit is priced at $139 per night plus tax, based on double occupancy. Fall rates drop down to about $259 per night and $89 per night, respectively.
Dunmaglas Golf Course was founded in 1991 and built by Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Larry Mancour. It has been ranked among the best 50 upscale course in the United States by Golf Digest, and plays to a maximum of 6,897 yards though breathtaking scenery. Classic bunkering and green settings mark the course that is challenging from the back tee positions and easier to manage from the three other tee choices.
Rates for just play in peak season are $99 on the weekend and $89 for during the week play. Twilight rates are $65 and $55.
